I have over 20 years’ experience as a sustainability expert in the UK and internationally. I have occupied various jobs in this area, from freelancer consultant, to head of sustainability in a couple of large companies, and university lecturer. I have been fortunate to receive several sustainability awards along the way. I am now an academic and manage funded research projects at the University of East London Sustainability Research Institute, co-developing green products and services, and helping beneficiaries to reduce their carbon emissions. I also am senior teaching fellow at the UCL in Environmental Design.
Being an AGF assessor is wonderful. I have been lucky to carry out assessments for fantastic events such as Glastonbury and Boomtown. I am continually impressed by the creative energy and innovation that goes into making these events greener against the various challenges of transience, crowds and weather. I also believe they are a powerful opportunity to inform and influence about sustainability.
