Daniel Baxter is a Senior Lecturer of International Tourism and Events Management and Assistant Head (International) at Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU), Scotland. Before joining GCU, Daniel worked in the Tourism and Events Industry in various commercial and operational roles for tour operators, airlines and destinations. He teaches areas including Experience Management, Diversity, Equality and Inclusion, and Change Management. He places great emphasis on applied learning, embedding live client projects within each of his modules, ensuring that students have exposure to the sector they will be working within and the challenges being faced. Daniel is an executive committee member with the Association for Event Management Education (AEME), where he is a member of the sustainability special interest group, focusing on the role sustainability plays in event management education. He is a member of the Gender Research and Equalities Network, and his research focuses on Drag Culture and, more recently, the LGBTQIA+ communities’ experience of safe spaces within event venues.
