Doctor Music Festival
Doctor Music Festival

The Doctor Music Festival returns after 20-year hiatus. The legendary and pioneer festival - known nationally as the “Spanish Woodstock” - played in the late 90s by David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Massive Attack, Patti Smith, Rage Against the Machine, Muse, Blur, Nick Cave, Underworld, Carl Cox, etc... – is due to return in 2019. The spirit of those three days and four nights of music, love and nature will come back to life in July 2019. The reincarnation will occur in the same valley surrounded by the mountains where our mythical cow was born, at Escalarre, in the Catalan Pyrenees. The festival will be an organic “Shangri-La” built on the principles of Food Sovereignty. Our sustainability commitment means that we will apply a zero-waste policy and will give top priority to local suppliers.

Because it is harder to get to our festival than to most other festivals, only those overflowing with creative energy, friendship, love for music and a desire to enjoy life and nature will be able to enjoy that feeling of freedom provided at the enormous site of Doctor Music Festival. Forget the masses and welcome to a place so perfect that it feels out of this world.

Sounds for Nature
Sounds for Nature

The Sounds For Nature Foundation grew out of a project of the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN). It was worn for many years as a cooperative project by the BfN, the music agency coke, the German Music Rock Foundation and the Institute for Environmental Communication (IFU Bonn) in the form of a joint venture.

The aim of Sounds For Nature is the confrontation with "Nature and Environment" in the context of (live) music and events. The environmental and conservation ideas and the sustainable use of nature is to be re voice heard in the truest sense - not with the finger-wagging, but with imagination, joy and lust for life.

The Green Gathering (produced by Optimistic Trout Productions)

The Green Gathering is a showcase of real life, low-impact alternatives. Its focus is education for sustainability, with the proviso that education should be hands-on and fun. The festival's strapline is 'beyond hedonism' and it aims to provide an environment where creativity can be applied to ecological and social dilemmas.

This translates into a tapestry of skillsharing and entertainment, all powered by wind, sun and people. Campaign stalls and a Speakers’ Forum vie for attention with tiny music stages showcasing up-and-coming and avant garde talent. Performance artists, healers, mystics and tipi dwellers inhabit the festival’s fringes.

Traders and caterers are picked for their ethics and the quality of their wares. Workers’ co-operative stalls, handmade and recycled goods, and organic produce are abundant. There are forays into the surrounding woodland for wild food, and campfires to cook hand-picked produce on. Festival-goers frequently say that attendance at a Green Gathering inspired them to change their outlook and habits.

Where many festivals are all about forgetting responsibilities and enjoying the show, The Green Gathering aims to trigger a sense of responsibility and to equip festival-goers with the mindset and skills to transform their lives, and the world, for the better.
